DEV.to Quick Actions enhances your DEV.to experience without trading privacy. This page summarizes how you stay in control.

Scope

The extension only runs on DEV.to and Forem surfaces to speed up manual interactions you already do. It does not collect passwords, sell data, or run on unrelated sites.

Local storage & settings

We persist your settings and limited status info in your browser so you don’t reconfigure every session. Nothing is sent to remote analytics services unless you explicitly enable debug.

Permissions

activeTab: Run quick actions on the currently open DEV.to/Forem tab.
scripting: Inject the lightweight control panel safely.
storage: Save your preferences and PRO status locally.

How PRO works

PRO status is verified via the Pro portal API. We do not store payments or card data; payments happen outside the extension. Only the minimum flag (isPro, features) is fetched.

Security & behavior

The UI layer only triggers actions you could do manually. Any network requests (reactions, comments, follow/unfollow) reuse your existing DEV.to session. You stay logged in and in control.
